Rogue Squadron

Aside from the Firelands dailies–yawn–I did arena with Skove. 

Now that was fun. We went 8-1. The only team we couldn’t answer to was a holy pally-DK combo. Even then I think we both would like to meet them again. In fact we went up against a different holy pally/DK combo and took them easily. 

The nice thing about rogues is, first, you decide (mostly) when to start the fight. They decide where.  

Second, they have cooldowns useful specifically for casters (cloak, smoke bomb) and for melee (evasion, disarm). Combat Readiness is no longer a cooldown. I can only imagine ever using it against two melee teams, and only if cloak is unglyphed. The sharing of its cooldown with Cloak has truly killed it. 

Third, if you are subtlety, you have solid pressure, escapes, and self-healing. 

In other news, Chillshot is now 83 and doing solid damage. Still love Beast Mastery, still could care less about the other specs. 

Archangel mine

Warmheart is now 83 and will be going to Uldum soon. 

The talent she got was Archangel. It was at the very end of the night, but I tried it on a training dummy and it looks very interesting. Very wicked-looking in Shadowform. 

Way way afk

We were away this weekend. Didn’t really play to speak of. I did some herbing on Chillpaw and got him halfway through 83. Still crazy good druid herbing. 

I heard that Paranoid had to cancel one day of raiding, but on the other day ran through all four farm bosses. Not bad. 

The new leveling areas are great…

…but they make me realize more and more that I play this game to be on with my friends. 

I did a lot of Vasjir (sp?) yesterday and got the seahorse mount. Fun. But I had a lot more fun doing a Blackrock run with my guildmates. 

Man, we had a lot of 82s already. I don’t want to be the last one in my raid to get 85, so I’ll have to watch that. For now I’ll still level both paladin and mage as best I can. 

I got my Mage to 81. Flame orb is okay. The damage is nice, but what is really cool is that in my frost spec it procs the Fingers of Frost. Nice. 

My mage has a couple of pieces of green Cata items. I am doing heavy damage, about 5k to 5.5k, virtually all via single-target. I use Blizzard only for the procs (1 point in the slowing talent) and once they pop I halt the Blizzard and go back to blasting.   On groups of three or more it is usually after one or two ticks. 

Lots of fun. My son made a gnome to see the new starting area there and is enjoying it. More on that later.
