Son on a ghostly Pegasus

Aprillian sent the code yesterday, and my son now has a Celestial Steed.

He really likes it. He says it’s like a ghostly Pegasus, which pretty much nails it. (Nothing like Percy Jackson to foster a basic interest in Greek Mythology.)

My wife worked late last night and couldn’t play. I asked her to log in and check it out, in the morning if possible.

Meanwhile I worked a bit on Chillpaw. I healed an AB, which we won. It was fun. It was cool getting back into it, as I haven’t healed on him since arenas in late Wrath. In fact that is probably my last healing on any toon. It feels much as it used to. Boy howdy is that Effloresence a mixed blessing in a BG!  Sure, the healing is great, but as soon as it pops even the most thick opponent realizes there is a healer to target nearby-and for the rest of the BG.

I so rarely get to use the phrase ‘boy howdy.’  In fact that could be the first time.

Anyway Chillpaw is 82 now and I may also try shadow PVP on Warmheart soon.

Winner!

I won one of two Celestial Steeds in Ctrl-Alt-WoW’s anniversary contest!

As I said in my entry, I will give it to my son and wife’s account. My son will like the see-through coolness; my wife will like the sparkles.

Hopefully the code will come today so I can surprise them with it and then compose a thank you to the Ctrl-Alt-WoW hosts, including Juuno who donated the ponies and ran the contest. (And judged the entries, if I understand rightly.)

Thanks, Ctrl-Alt-WoW!

If you don’t listen to them already, go check them out!  They are friends with Bind on Equip and The Addicted.  I write this on my phone, so linking is difficult, but they are easily found on iTunes and Google.

The Pants on Head-related podcasts rock!

It seems like a number of Warcraft podcasts have been disappearing lately.

Spouse Aggro just had its last episode – and they’re hardly the only ones. What is now Dregcast used to be a podcast about Warcraft. There are more, including some that exist but without a regular schedule any more, but you get the point.

Happily the three podcasts most closely linked to the Pants on Head guild are going strong and putting out great podcasts on a weekly basis.

Bind on Equip are still having fun. Wych went to BlizzCon and I for one am looking forward to hearing the stories.  These are the leaders of our fine guild and quite the Warcraft rock stars.

The Addicted are going strong. Hyp and Cypher are two guys I’d like to play WoW with. Oh, that’s right – I do!  If you haven’t listened to them, then get to the choppa!

Ctrl Alt Wow are having fun. They practically have a new co-host with the remarkable Juno. These guys have a lot of alts in Pants on Head, though I seem to miss them a fair bit. But then they’re very busy – if you consider me a heavy altaholic you clearly haven’t listened to this show.

I write this on my iPhone, so excuse me not putting up links. All three are available on iTunes and for other devices, have sites, Twitters, and so on, and are easily Googleable with their name plus the word ‘podcast.’
