Chillheart is well geared

Limited play time yesterday. Did get Chill’s dailies done, won a BG–an AV–and upgraded her chest from 365 to 371.  Only hands are left below 365 ilevel.

Downloaded the updated SWTOR client. Did not require a wipe of the previous build, so I guess this could be considered a major (10g or so) patch.

First Firelands

Paranoid delved into the Firelands this weekend. We did not take down a boss yet, but learned a lot, and I expect we will take one down soon.

Arena season should start up today, which will be fun. Also, it was AV weekend, and I had fun doing many BGs, both solo and with guildies.

Cho’gall nearly down

We got Cho’gall down to 3% on our second-to-last attempt. We also got to the final phase in both of our last attempts. It seems inevitable that we will get him down next weekend.

I also did a ton of AVs this weekend on Chillheart. She is almost out of 339 equipment. Horde did quite well by defending on Galv. Despite te map being tilted against Horde we won a bit over half the time.

I made one mistake by spending some Conquest points to buy a chest piece. That means one more week before she gets her conquest weapon. Ah well.

Chilldeed 85; 3v3 mage

Chilldeed is now 85.

I did her first 85 Tol Barad and first 85 BG (AV) with her.

Even poorly geared she does okay. And it is quite fun.

I think I’ve made the right choice going with Enveloping Shadows instead of Cheat Death. The reduction in AoE damage is incredibly good, at least in BGs. And there are few times when a 10% pop in health +3 seconds of damage protection is going to save me.  Usually I’m being hit by more than one person and slowed or stunned anyway.

I also did some 3s on Chillmon the mage with Ripp and Zooe. It is still brutal but we are winning almost 50% of the time, and are learning more tips and tricks.

I still start invisible, but hang back with Rippdoc while Zooy tries to get a sap off. It works better, both because it offers more out-of-combat choices for him, and lowers the chances of me attacking his sap target.

Ripp now often starts with a mass dispel to mess with their buffs, while I am deciding on the first target with Zooe. Then, barring the need for a sheep, it is time to go to town.

I try to hold off Counterspelling on a healer until he is below half health and therefore looking to heal. Often he has trinketed out of a Deep Freeze or Zooe’s Kidney Shot and won’t be able to get a cast for those four seconds. And when (if, heh) the silence wears off I try to weave in some spell steals, since they are often trying to throw instant heals on, which tend to have HoT components.  It isn’t perfect yet, but I am working on my strategy, as are Ripp and Zooe. Fun stuff!

Approaching Goals

Almost 85 on my paladin, and almost Outlands for my son and myself.

10% to go til the final ding for Chillhand. I’m doing it in randoms and in Deepholm, since I didn’t open up the rep there yet.

I will be doing heroics sometime this weekend, it seems. I can’t wait.

My son and I did some AV. Fun stuff; he likes that BG, as I always have. Turning in the multiple AV quests found north of Tarren Mill under refer-a-friend resulted in massive exp. He is five levels from Outlands, and champing at the bit to see the new content and get the sweet gear.

Outland Bound

Outland bound!

While most of my active characters are at the level cap already, I an leveling a paladin. She dinged 58 yesterday.

I haven’t yet introduced my characters but will soon. I have lots of plans for this blog which will be implemented gradually.

Anyway if you have a toon in the 50s, may I suggest Alterac Valley?  A win is worth about half a level. And even a loss is okay as long as some towers are capped. Plus you can turn in items for Org reputation, which will make 310 flying cheaper in Cata.

Ret pally is very strong in battlegrounds. I was defeating allies three levels above me with little problem. Only geared 60s were capable of taking me out one on one. Of course my BoA gear helps, but that is quite common by now.

With my raiding toon unable to get better gear via frost badges, I should have time to level her up even more.
